Heather Matheson

Heather Matheson has built a sweet business providing Peace, Love and Cookies – appropriately the name of her business – to the Tulsa area. She started the business as a home bakery and quickly outgrew her space with her yummy cookie recipes that are baked fresh daily. With a background in social work and her business looking for a new location, it didn’t take long for someone to connect her with Family and Children’s Services in Tulsa and the results couldn’t be sweeter. They had a commercial kitchen that they used for teaching food service skills to people in their programs.

Her employees are all a part of the Women in Recovery program and as she admits, she has built more than a business. It’s early-morning therapy sessions mixed with mutual connection and support for the women who are part of her team. The result of this winning combination includes women who are building their lives to be become better and more productive for themselves and their children while breaking cycles of poverty, abuse and incarcaration.
